"Abacaxi Mamão" (aba-ka-SHEE mah-MOW) means "Pineapple Papaya," which is what I ate daily for breakfast when I was in Brazil in March 2005. This has since become a place for me to reflect on living in New York, Jewish texts, gender issues, and general observations about life. The blog was most active from 2005-2009, although I have posted occasionally since then. (The best posts are also those from 2005-2009.) Thanks for reading!
