I never realized how much grew out of that shloshim for Morah B, and I know she would be awfully proud of you. After all, one of her major educational goals, for her kindergarten pupils, was to take a group of shy kids, standing on stage at a school assembly, and teach them to belt out what had to be said loud and clear, with self-confidence. In that case, what had to be said was a song about Chanukah, etc., often one for which Morah B wrote the words, but I think the lesson carried into the rest of the lives of her former pupils, where what has to be said may be something quite different.

It would be great if you could send a link to this post to Morah B's daughter NBG, your former babysitter, who would be very happy to see all you have accomplished since then, and the extent to which her mother inspired you. Do you know how to get in touch with her?

Kilayim is one of my favorite masechtot too. I am particularly fond of what I call the "Bigfoot mishnah", though it may actually refer to a great ape.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11850330.post-42296550572483133272008-07-09T12:57:00.000-04:002008-07-09T12:57:00.000-04:00What a beautiful post. I've never thought about that analogy before. It's wonderful that you find yourself in an environment that welcomes your struggles with open arms.Mimihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14109585647362713496noreply@blogger.com
